A year ago today I started learning Spanish ready for my trip to Mexico so that I could more easily communicate with the staff of the recovery centre and others that I met in Mexico.
My friend, Tacitus, who went to Mexico for the same surgery as me about six or seven weeks before my surgery, had mentioned that knowing a little Spanish would help since some of the staff don’t speak English. He also commented on having a translation app on my phone to assist.
Both of these things were certainly of great use – as was every piece of intelligence he passed to me from his own experience.
I decided that I wanted to keep it up: the Spanish speaking world is such a big place, and learning is fun!
I am hoping this summer, or next, to go to Spain for a few weeks and get off the usual tourist track a little. I want to use local transport, trains, and stay in small hotels.
I might even get to meet a Spanish eunuch friend, a little brother eunuch, with whom I’ve become close to over the last few months.
I would also like to see more of central and southern America. I wonder, am I crazy to think that trekking around Puerto Rico on my todd would be silly?
Isn’t that amazing though? That resolving my body issues has opened up a whole different world for me – and not the kind of world that could possibly have been anticipated!
I wonder what discoveries about themselves others have made as a result of castration?
