Banned from the Eunuch Archive

The Eunuch Archive is (or purports to be) a website for people interested in castration or who have been castrated. A friend of mine created a post discussing the difficulties faced by a submissive male seeking castration. It was a detailed and extremely well thought out post that resonated me with me on a number of levels. Shortly after it’s creation it was taken down. My friend’s Dom challenged the decision and was himself banned. A few days later I created a post questioning how the EA was run. The post never got past the moderators, so I created a post on my blog within the EA website … which got me banned! No explanation, my account was simply deleted.

Below is a copy of my post, with some comments be a member of a Discord server who took the time to attempt to reply to it.

My original questions are in this colour, the fellow on Discord (who has also been banned from EA is in this colour)

I have some questions about the Eunuch Archive, if anyone fancies having a go at answering them:

  • What is the purpose of the Eunuch Archive? Is there a mission statement or T&Cs document somewhere?
  • How are posts approved? What is the process for removing a post or appealing against a post’s removal? Who is responsible for censoring posts? What criteria is used for this?
  • No transparency
  • Who are the admins? Are they governors or servants? How are they appointed and to whom do they answer?
  • They answer to no one. The kids were appointed long ago, they appoint new ones when older mods die.
  • Does the Eunuch Archive have outside affiliations? Is the name “Eunuch Archive” used to endorse any external organisation? (eg does the EA support any particular academic or political institution?)
  • Well I heard two of them were instrumental in getting SOC8 passed, but that they were creepy at the conference.
  • How is the Eunuch Archive funded? Is it funded from external donations or only by member contributions?
  • Member contributions. They have a drive every year to cover the costs.
  • Does the EA employ any professionals, or is it managed by non-professional volunteers?
  • All volunteers from many walks of life.
  • How does the Eunuch Archive manage its public relations policy? How it promote itself? Is the primary means of acquiring new members organic?
  • They get a lot of traffic because Reduxx infiltrated and wrote a hit piece on them. Mentioning Reduxx is enough to get banned. They don’t want new members who have any sexual interests in Castration, only interest in posting stories that you aren’t allowed to be turned on by I guess.
  • What feedback do people get when their post is rejected by the moderators/admins?
  • No feedback, just a deleted, censored or locked thread with a pissed off moderator berating you and threatening a ban.

I posted these questions into my favourite Discord server, and it prompted quite a discussion. There seems that there are a number of problems with EA that it highlighted:

  • Lack of accountability
  • Narrow definition of what it is to be a eunuch
  • Denial of the sexual/kink aspect of being castrated for some people
  • Arbitrary eviction of people who question the Authority Of The Elders
  • They are self-appointed representatives of our community and thereby exclude representation for non-conformists; this poses a problem for us getting proper help and support from medical and mental health practitioners because of this distortion.

Where EA could have been of benefit is the static and long lived nature of discussion threads and as a knowledge base with peer reviewed articles.

My favourite place, where I feel safest, has been a particular Discord server (The Dog House) since I first discovered it. It is a very welcoming place, it can be fun, informative, and compassionate. It feels inclusive of all kinds of people and discussion is encouraged, and while disagreements do happen, they are usually resolved between the participants. I am not aware of any censorship on that server.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been banned also. I got a lot of support there myself and made some online friends there that I have no contact with now.

After being an active contributing member for four years with nothing but positive posts, I was suddenly banned without explanation. I am very hurt , given that I have contributed financially to this organization and felt that page was a true community. The post that got me banned was an update on my life and sharing that I’m not in a good place and am suicidal. My username wss Evolve01

James- what was your EA username? Mine was Evolve01. Yeah, I sent emails to the administrators and nobody ever responded to explain why I got banned . Now I just want to burn that dinosaur of a site down by getting the word out about how awful and backwards the Neanderthals who run that site are. I gave a lot to that site.

ok- I don’t quite remember you, but I signed up on new years four years ago, two months before I got my orchi. I made a few good friends who I never met. I was always frustrated but how antiquated the site was and the platform, but I loved the members. Any idea which administrator could have done that??

No, but I’m pretty sure Paolo won’t be involved; he is very grieved by what the site has become.

I don’t think it was Paulo either- he actually wrote a nice response to my last post. Seriously, I’m now disturbed that that’s the site WPATH took guidance from!!!

Did they also ban you without any explanation or communication?

No explanation at all. One day I was in. The next I am was evicted. I know why I was evicted – it was because I questioned the way the site was run after they deleted a friend’s post

I was there for maybe 5 or 6 months before getting banned. I kept the first version of this blog there, thinking that I woke benefit from having a source to reflect and think about who I was and what I needed amongst people like me, and that I could help other people like work themselves out. I am very glad I created a backup!

Wow- that’s f-ed up- and it falls me that they’ve been asking their members for donations to keep the site running. If they’re going to be asking for donations, the least they should do is be transparent and respectful to the very membership that’s keeping that sorry ass site afloat.

Lol! One of my questions was about transparency, another was about funding, another was about external affiliations.

Guys, I’m just going to leave this here: The Archive is what it is. Not all the Admin’s are in 100% agreement over every topic out there. (That’s just common sense) But when one Admin does something, another Admin doesn’t go in and undo it, even though we may not all agree with one another. People do get banned without warning sometimes. It takes a LOT for me to ban someone. A LOT. I haven’t banned anyone but for spammers in a very LONG time. I’ve even had some of my posts in support of “iffy” topics and “certain” users pulled! Yes, the EA is old and it has problems. Some of us have been trying to resolve some technical issues, with little success. As I said, right now, it is what it is and there’s little that I can do about it – I just “work” there. I am also open, as our friend here of this blog knows, to answer questions. paolox3@hushmail.com
