| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| bivalve | Biological male who identifies as male who also has a vagina |
| cis- | The prefix cis- comes from the Latin meaning “on this side,” as opposed to trans- which means “on the other side of” or “beyond.” Here cis- means anyone who identifies with their birth gender |
| eunuch | biological male who has had their testicles removed or destroyed; sometimes the term eunuch is used in other sources to refer to males with all their external genitals removed (eg Chinese Imperial eunuchs), however there is a specific word for men with all external genitalia removed that we use on this site: nullo |
| nullo | This term typically refers to the removal of all external genitalia, sometimes including the complete closure of the genital area. It’s more extreme and is sometimes chosen by individuals seeking to remove any gendered physical traits. For nullification, things can be quite different between surgeries, inline with the patient’s needs. Most of time, the penis is completely removed, including the glans, and no clitoris is built. The final external result is only the pee all, sometimes with big labia. The internal cavernous corpus can be left in, but most of time, greater part of it is also removed, still following patient’s needs. Some patients request that all of cavernous corpus be removed, this will prevent any kind of erection occurring, even with hormones. In all cases, the prostate is not removed. |
| trans- | The prefix cis- comes from the Latin meaning “on this side,” as opposed to trans- which means “on the other side of” or “beyond.” Here trans- is used to denote people who do not identify with their birth gender, irrespective of whether they have transitioned “You do not need to have had any surgery or medical intervention to be, or to be recognised as, trans.” https://www.stonewall.org.uk/the-truth-about-trans#:~:text=You%20do%20not%20need%20to,to%20be%20recognised%20as%2C%20trans. |
| Zero-depth vaginoplasty | This involves creating the external appearance of female genitalia (like a vulva) without creating a vaginal canal. It’s often chosen by transgender women who do not want or need vaginal penetration. In all cases, a vaginoplasty, with or without depth vagina, will let a functional clitoris build from these glans. During an SRS surgery, all internal cavernous material will stay in place. So a transwoman still can have and feel a (non visible) erection (depending on HRT) and can experience orgasm by stimulating the new clitoris. |
