5k!
Today I managed my first five kilometre run since my surgery. It wasn’t easy, but neither did I push myself so hard that I risked injury.
I could only run a couple of k while I didn’t have any hormones. Seven months of it being extremely difficult to exercise.
When I go to the gym, I apply my Testavan thirty to forty minutes before I go; when I go for my Sunday runs, I apply the gel after I get back and have showered.
Supplements
The supplements helped to manage the more unpleasant side effects of near zero testosterone, however they couldn’t get counteract the energy drain that hormone deficiency created.
Oestrogen would have helped since it too would have help get my body energised, although it’s not as effective as testosterone at boosting the body’s energy systems.
Sweet cravings
The cravings for sweet, fatty foods has reduced significantly. I’m actually on a “no refined sugar” diet at the moment. This is helping to break the sugar addiction that got quite strong while I didn’t have any hormones to speak of.
I put on a bit of weight since my surgery. It’s going to take a while to come off – and there’s December to get through.
Body confidence
Since having my testicles and the horrible bag removed, my body confidence has grown markedly.
However, I don’t want to lose that confidence by continuing to gain weight, so I am taking action now to get back to the shape that suits me best.
You know what though?
I’m proud of how far I’ve come and look forward to continuing this journey.
