December 2023 – Blood test 1
Before my surgery, I paid to have a private testosterone blood test. The doctor had refused; “it’s not standard practice” she said. Mine was hardly a standard request!
6th January 2024 – Results
The result came back on the 6th January 2024: 18.3 nmol/L (normal total testosterone level: 7.6 – 31.4 nmol /L).
6th February 2024
My surgery was on the 6th February 2024.
April 2024 – Blood test 2
In April, I persuaded a different doctor to give me a testosterone test.. The result was 1.7 nmol/L.
Result!
August 2024 – Blood test 3
Another blood test in August 2024, requested by the endocrinologist, returned 1.1nmol/L.
October 2024 – Blood test 4
The latest blood test result came back on the 15th November 2024. I’m now at 19.7 nmol/L. That confuses the hell out of me because I’m on what I thought was a half dose of Testavan yet I’m reporting a higher level of testosterone than my testicles ever produced.
12th December 2024 – Endocrinology 2
I’m seeing the endocrinologist in mid-December, so I shall have to ask her about it then!
Getting my hormones sorted has been an emotional and stressful journey. It has impacted on both my mental and physical health.
I wonder if anybody has any idea why my bloods would be reporting so high on one pump of Testavan a day?
