Testavan update

I’ve noticed that I get a bit tired and sleepy in the afternoons. I am not sure how long that’s been going on for, or whether its related to when I take my T-gel (Testosterone gel).

I have been taking my T-gel in the evening, anywhere between a couple of hours and thirty minutes before bed; the instructions for Testavan actually say to put in on it the morning to reflect testosterone’s natural lifecycle over the course of a day.

I started putting it on at night because it was going to be impossible to put it on after going to the gym on the days I go into the office or I cycle into work – one can’t sit around topless for thirty minutes while it dries!

I was also concerned because it takes between one and two hours for the gel to be fully absorbed by the skin – and the packaging is covered with warnings about transferring the gel onto women or children – especially pregnant women.

I have found that the gel is dry after thirty minutes, so the thought occurred to me that since it usually takes me anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour to get up and out of a morning, that I could put the gel on as soon as I get up and that it will be dry before I leave the house.

At the gym, I can wear a vest while spin cycling because I won’t be touching anything that might transfer the hormone, and on other days I will have to wear a T shirt.

I am going to see how it goes – and whether the tiredness comes on me later in the day.

In my attempt to return to healthy patterns of living, today was my second day at the gym (taking the T-gel before I went). I decided that I was going to do a light weights circuit (it would be mad to go heavy on day one).

Firstly, my upper body strength has deteriorated quite a lot – my circuit included press-ups and I could only do the knee-adaptation. By the third circuit even that was a struggle.

My hamstrings are tight. So I needed to be cautious wit the leg exercises until they loosen up again – last time I went heavy and full range of motion and I hurt my legs, although that was before I moved into the flat.

In particular, squats were difficult: having gone up a size in trousers, my shorts are tight and that limits the range of motion – if I squat to deep, my fellow gym-goers are treated to a nice builder’s cleavage!
