At first, when I began this journey, I was alone and as far as I was aware I was unique. It took a few months for me to find groups on Reddit about castration, but only after I took a virtual beating from the Gay Bros SubReddit. I had a virtual hug from a lovely trans girl who witnessed the virtual assault.

I ran into a number of people whom I have been in contact with almost constantly ever since. Each of them supported and challenged me on my way. Two of them were already eunuchs, two of them were allies or admirers. Of the eunuchs, one was happy in his state, the other was not.

I wasn’t that keen on Reddit; the SubReddits were given to photos of cocks and balls with the caption “what would you do with these?”. I didn’t like the sense that castration was something to be done on a whim and encouraged.

I found the Eunuch Archive, where I found some support and kindness.  I was saddened that I was ejected from that community and I wonder what those people who had been so kind to me thought of my disappearance? They saw some of my early blog postings where I was in real emotional turmoil – and in danger. I wish I could tell them that I was happy and safe.

I eventually discovered the Dog House, and I encountered a coherent community of eunuchs, nullos, wannabes, and admirers; I made some more long-term friends. And I discovered that eunuchs didn’t always identify as male. Some identified as female. Or as neutral/agender. Or some other shade or combination of gender.

I have eunuch brothers, sisters, and (possibly more accurately) siblings!

We are a community of gender and the genitally diverse.

I am now able to better express how I feel about my gender identity, and I am loving the journey of exploration into my own soul, supported by my virtual family of choice.

I am so happy to have converted some of my virtual family into a real life family.

What a privilege to be a eunuch and have such a family!
